Are We Done Yet?

The war with Afghanistan I can say now that it is pretty huge now. Majority of the citizens at first wanted in to the war, after a couple of years, I feel like it is getting too much. We are involved in a war that that is very expensive. We should be focusing on better things, like bringing the troops back home. There are too many families that would love to see their loved ones come back to the states. If our enemies are not backing down and we don’t back down, then how long are we going to go through this? Do we have to raise our taxes, make new planes and create new stimulus packages? We would have to do everything and anything to keep us involved in the war, we have to work harder, raise money for the troops.
We should work and negotiate together and try to put a stop to the war. I think if we don’t do this soon enough we might get into deep trouble later. We should think about the future and how this war were involved with is affecting our lives. Instead of putting time and money into the war, we should be focusing more on other things like global warming and things that matter. The war is hurting a lot of people. It seems like both of the parties are not giving up, and if it goes on we going to lose more money and innocent people. So we need to do something about it, we have to come up with a plan to stop the war.

  1. I agree with my fellow colleague Kosi. The war with Afghanistan has been going on for years now. But she forgot to mention the invasion on Iraq as well. However she makes her point clear that “we should be focusing on better things, like bringing the troops back”. She is right about the war; it is hurting a lot of people. But it’s not only hurting people and their families, it’s hurting our economy. The US is spending millions if not billions of dollars to fund a senseless war, and it’s not a wise decision in my opinion. Especially if we are in a recession. Kosi stated “Instead of putting time and money into the war, we should be focusing more on other things like global warming and things that matter”. The writer is confident and supports her view with prime examples that are vital for our society. I couldn’t have said it better myself; we should focus more on the economy, healthcare reform, and global warming. In conclusion she ends her commentary by “we need to do something about it; we have to come up with a plan to stop the war”. I agree that we need do to something about it and come up with a plan so the war will end. But it’s better said than actually done.

  2. Kosi makes a great argument that I agree with. This war has no meaning and no one truly knows anymore why anyone is fighting and dying over insignificant things. We should be focusing on better things than the war. Like school aid or re-establishing the crappy economy we have, we cant keep paying for a war that is not worth fighting for. In my opinion war is never good it just brings more trouble to the table and doesnt really solve much. And where is this change that we kept hearing last year? yeah just like I expected we said goodbye to the bad Bush regime to say hello to a crappier Obama regime. Are we just that stupid?
